Appointment.
Lord North has been appointed Judge of the English High Court of Justice.
November 2. The Land Commission.
The Irish Land Sub-Commission gave its first decision to-day on one of the questions brought before it for settlement, viz., an application by a tenant under the fair rent provisions of the Land Act. The decision of the Commission was in favor of the tenants' application, and fixed a reduced rent for his holding. BERLIN, November 2. The Anti-Jewish Feeling in Germany.
The German Government has instituted a prosecution against the anti-Jewish organ, " Die Reishenold," for publishing articles with the object of fomenting a feeling against the Jews in Germany. Dividend. The London Chartered Bank of Australia has declared a divident of 5 per per cent, for the past half year, and carries £IO,OOO to the reserve fund.
