The schooner Edith Reid, for Dunedin, again returned to Port on Saturday, having put back in the southerly weather. The Colonial Government steamer Stella arrived on Saturday at 5.30 p.m. from Wellington, and soon after took on board the Volunteers from I'imara, Temaka, and Ashburton, leaving at 6.45 p.m. . _ , . , The s.s. Grafton, Captain Johnson, arrived on Saturday night from Wellington and the '‘test Coast. Wellington was left last Wednesday, bnt after proceeding as far as Capo Campbell, the crank shaft of the port propeller broke, and the Grafton returned to Wellington, where the damaged shaft was left to ho repaired. A second start for here was made on Friday at 11 a m., and with her starboard propeller only the steamer, driving against a strong southerly wind and heavy sea, reached Port at 9 p.m. on Saturday.
