Lane was charged with stealing fifteen copper boilers, valued at £22 103, the property of Solomon Nashelski. On the application of the polioe, he was remanded till Ootober Bth. Obtaining Monet by False Pbbtences. —Seymour Harris Saunders was brought up for the above offence. He was remanded till October 6th, the police stating that thero were other charges against prisoner pending, which there had not been time to enquire fully into. Uncontbollablb Child. Aloxander Cross, aged twelve, was brought up under the Neglected and Criminal OhildrenJAct. The police stated that he had run away, and had been absent from home for the last fortnight. He had been sleeping out, and picking up his subsistence anyhow. His mother said that barring his rambling disposition, he was not a bad boy. He would not attend sohool. The boy was in a miserably tattered condition. He said he was ashamed to go home after once stopping away. He said his mother was kind to him, and he had no reason for running away. The Magistrates, after admonishing, dismissed him, and recommended the mother to deal with him cautiously, as he did not on the whole seem to be a bad boy. Labcent as a Bailee.—John Dale, oharged with this offtMiee, now came up on remand from September 29th. The prosecutor, Thomas PuintOD,alabourer,depOßedt hit he had been working with prisoner at Mr Bell's farm, Lincoln, as partners in widening a drain, trimming fences, &0., by contract. When the job was finished prisoner wont with tho consent of prosecutor and got the money for it. Ho cleared out immediately afterwards without dividing it, but prosecutor admitted not having asked h>*m to do so. Cross-examined— Prosecutor further said that he and prisoner were gindebted in common .to a man named Gabitos. The defence appeared to bo that the money had been retained by prisoner until this debt should be settled, but after bearing Mr Bell, who proved tbe contraot, the Benoh dismissed the case, remarking that the difference was purely a matter of account between tho parties, and there was not a shadow of the justification for the present charge.
