[pee pbess association.] HAWERA, October 1. The Native AspectThe Press Association correspondent telegraphs the following : I have just been taking to Mr Hunter, of Otakehu, upon whose land the Maoris were ploughing. He tells me that many settlers blame him for not deoiding to turn the Maoris off, but as the Defence Minister threw the responsibility upon him of deciding which course was to be adopted, he thinks, under the circumstances, he did what was best. Some other settlers on the Plains have made a private arrangement and exohanges with the Natives. Both races appear quite satisfied. The rumors lately prevailing are now subsiding. KUMABA, October 1.
