The following is tho report for tho week ending Friday, September 23rd : Tho past week has been but a repetition of its predecessor. Little or no business is doing, and there is not, at present, any signs of a revival. Tho weather, meantime, is all that could be desired, although soma parts of Uanterbnry are said to bo suffering from drought Wheat—Good milling samples are worth from 4s 6d to 4s 9d per bushel f.o.b. ; second quality, 4a to 4s 3d per bushel f.o.b. ; chick wheat, 2s 9d to 3s 3d per bushel in Christchurch. Oats—The market has dragged very much, and prices may bo quoted a shado easier. Good stout milling, 2s 2d to 2s 3d per bushel f.o.b. ; feed quality, Is lOd to Is lid per bushel, delivered in Christchurch.

Barley—The increased demand which has been apparent for some little time back is still maintained, bnt of tho quality sought for, viz., good to prime malting, there is really not much to bo had. This quality barley will find ready buyers at from 2s 9d to 3s 4d per bushel; second class malting is heavy of sale, indeed, is almost entirely neglected ; prices nominal. Peed samples are worth from Is 9d to 2s per bushel, delivered in Christchurch. Potatoes—There is not much to report upon in this article of produce beyond the reported rise of 10a per ton in the Sydney market. Holders are sanguine that this may bo tho forerunner of still greater improvement. Business in tho meantime is at a standstill. Prices nominal.

Grass Seed—Not much business has been transacted during the week. Well cleaned samples are worth from ss6dto 5s 9d per bushel; cocksfoot, 3|d to 3Jd per lb.
