MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Feet Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under:— TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 20.
For Northern Ports, per Penguin, at 7.30 p.m. The guard’s van must not be used for this mail.
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 22. For Akaroa and Otago, per Wanaka, at 9.40 a.m.; late fee letters, 9.50 a.m.; guard’s van, 10.20 a.m "train. For Northern Ports, per Arawata, at 1.45 p.m. ; late fee letters, at 2 p.m. ; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train.
The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will be closed at Christchurch on Saturday, October Bth, and will be due in .London on November 22ud.
Note —On and after Monday September 26th, a post-office will be opened at Flemington, near Ashburton. Mails will close at Christchurch each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 7.30 a.m., and arrive at Christchurch each Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, at 2.15 p m. SYDNEV J. JLrXCK, Chief Postmaster.
