Mails close at the Chief Post Offioe for the following placua (snbjeot to tha necessary altera tioDt) as tinder : SATURDAY. SEPTEMBER, 3. For Northern Ports, per Hawea, at 7.30 p.m. The guard's van must not be used for this mail. Notice. —On and after Ist September the mail service between Christchnrch and Papannr will be twice daily, carried by tram cars. Mails ■will close at Christchnrch at 8 a.m. and 3.30 p.m., and close at Papanni at 11.45 a.m. and 7 p.m. Notice.—The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will close en Saturday, September 10th, and will be due in London on October 25th.
