Elizabeth Ann Andrews was charged with having no lawful means of support. She appeared in the dock carrying an infant. The police said prisoner was a very bad subject. She had been just turned out of the Armagh street Home, and had been several times in gaol. She was so violent at times as to leave doubts of her sanity. Last night, when arrested, she had been going about threatening to dash out the brains of her child.—The Bench said the only way to deal with her was to send her back to gaol, as none of the charitable institutions could tolerate her wild behaviour. She was sentenced to three months’imprisonment. She was then led away, loudly protesting against a separation from her child —Sergeant Mason informed the Bench that, of course, the child would not be taken from her. Driving Without a License. Two charges of this nature, promoted by the Ci'y Council against Alfred Richards were, with the permission of the Court, now withdrawn.
