The Customs duties collected at Christchurch on Friday, August )9th, were as follows: Spirits £174 Is; wine, £l7 3s ; brer, £l2 15a; sugar, £22 8s 2d ; tea, £193 0s 4d ; goods by weight, £l7O 17s 4d; ad valorem. £72 3s; Other duties, £l6 15s Bd. Total, £679 Is 3d. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following telegram from London, dated 19th Angnst, 1881 :—Wheat—New Zealand is worth 55s per 4961b5. Reports are unfavorable concerning the growing crops here and in the Eastern States of America.
