JUSTICES JUSTICE.

To the iditor of the Olobe.

Sik, —Tho justices of the peace in Christchurch seem to hold very opposite views on questions regarding the moral welfare of the people of this town. The law Eays the dice box shall not be used in publio houses, and publicans have been fined £lO for breaking the law. Yet, on the face of this, a short time ago two case 3 came before the Court for allowing "Yankee grab " in licensed houses. A man was robbed of his money on one ef the occasions. Both these cases were clfarly proved, and were bolh dismissed, If the gentlemen that sit on tho Chriatchurch Bench differ so widely in their opinions, they might aa well go "Yahhey grab" for their verdict Yours, &c, OBSERVER.
