Uotoraahana arrived yesterday at 6 a m. from Auckland, via way ports, and left laat night for Melbourne, via the South. The Union Steamship Company's steamer Hawea arrived from Akaroa and Dunedin yeaterdny at 10.15 a.m., and left for the North in the afternoon. The southerly gale predicted to arrive here from the southward on Mondoy night "failed to connect," and yesterday the wind was flying about from various directions. The harbormaster states that the lowest barometrical reading recorded here during the last eight years was on the 23rd of June last, when the barometer registered 29.76. iitiimeH} X.riLrJttlid.jilß. Bluff, August 9. The Hero arrived at the Bluff this morning at R. She left Melbourne at; noon on the 2nd. Experienced a strong westerly gale with heavy sea during the run across. She sails at 4 p.m. for Dunedin. Passengers for Lyttelton—Miss and Master Wilmot, Miss Clayboume.
