MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : TUESDAY, JULY 26. For Ctago, per Bowen, at 12.30 p.m.; late fee letters, at 12.45 p.m.; guard's van, 1.25 p.m. train. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Albion, at 1.40 p.m.; late fee letters, at 2 p m.; guard's van, 2.40 p.m. train. For Kaikoura, per Jane Douglas, at 3.*20 p.m.; late feo letters, at 3.30 p.m.; guard's I van, 4 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Wanaka, at 7.30 p.m. The guard's van must set be used for this mail. WEDNESDAY, JUTY 27. For Australian Colonies and United Kinjjdom and Continent of Europe, (specially addressed correspondence only), per express, to connect with s.s. Albion, as follows: — Ordinary letters, at 7 a.m. ; books and newspapers, at 6 a.in. ; registered letters, at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26th; money orders, at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26th; late fee letters may be tosted in the travelling Po:t Office van attached to the express train on Wednesday, Ju;y 27th. Note.—From Ist August the Post-Office at Coalgate will be open for the issue and payment of money orders. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
