The Canterbury wa3 apparently but very slightly damaged. The Union "Steamship Company's s.s. Penguin aanv-ved on Saturday, from Auckland via way ports, being 1 four days late according to the Company's table. This delay was caused by tad weather experienced by her the whole way down the Coa3t." She left Auckland on the 15th, and sheltered under the Barrier Island the same day, and resumed her voyage the following day ; called at Gisborne and Napier, and left the last nimed port on the 18th. Before arriving at Wellington, she shipped a sea which broke the saloon skylight, stove in a boat, and smashed in the entrance to the saloon.
