Adelaide and New Zealand breadstuffs aro without quotable change. The Hop Harvest. Accounts to hand from the Kentish hop grounds give less favorable reports of the state of tho season’s crops. Bank DividendThe English, Scottish and Australian Chartered Bank has declared a dividend of 4 per cent, for the past half-year, and carries forward £4OOO to the reserve fund. The Land Board. In the House of Commons to-day, Mr Gladstone announced that an Irish Land Commission had been appointed, and would consist of tbo following members : —Lord O’Hagan (Lord Chancellor of Ireland), Mr E. F. Litton (member for Tyrone), and Mr Yergon (land agent). July 19, Very general surprise is expressed at the names of tho members of tbe Irish Land Commission. The appointments are considered weak, and will be strongly opposed by the Irish members in the House of Commons. The Tunisian Question. In the House of Commons to-day, a question was put to the Premier with a view of ascertaining the intention of the British Government in regard to the present state of affairs in Tunis. In reply, Mr Gladstone stated that diplomatic communications were passing between the Foreign Office and the French Government in reference to Tunisian affairs, and some decision would shortly be arrived at as to the action, if any, to be taken by England. The MailsThe Australian and New Zealand mails via Suez and Brindisi, which left Melbourne on Juno 7tb, were delivered here to-day. PARIS, July 19. The Tunisian Question. Telegrams have been received to-day from Tunis reporting that notwithstanding the success of the French troops at Sfax the insurgents, encouraged by the inactivity recently manifested by the Tunisian forces, are daily increasing in boldness, and aro raiding the country in all directions. To-day bodies of armed and mounted Arabs approached to within a short distance of tho city in their predatory incursions, and news to hand from outlying districts reports that the revolt is still spreading, and that the Arabs are rising to arras in large numbers. NEW YORK, July 18. TornadoA very severe tornado passed over the greater part of tho State of Minnesota to-day. Immense destruction has been caused to property, and heavy financial loss has resulted.
