KAIAPOI. Traffic on the North line was nearly suspended this morning by the overflow from the main drain at Elaxton, whioh about the lower bridge broke its banka and inundated about 300 acres. There were four breaches across the line at the 13th mile, and passengers, mails, and papers were passed forward by trollies. A 9.30 the water was decreasing. The Oxford lines were flooded. There were no reports of serious flood further North. As the rain has ceased and tho largest part of the water come down, no further damago is anticipated, and the lines ought to be all open for traffic to-morrow. There was no goods traffic on the North line to-day.
