New Zealand securities firm at previous 1 quotations, viz., 3 per cent. 10-40 Loan, 1051; 5 per cent 1889 Loan, 105 ; 4j , per cent. 1879-1904 Loan, 103. Adelaide wheat, ex warehouse, remains at 495; New Zealand, ex ship, at 48s; and Adelaide flour, ex warehouse, at 34s 4d ; Australian tallow, best beef, is quoted at 35s 6d, and best mutton at 375. Best Scotch pig iron, No. 1, free on board in Clyde, has advanced to 48s. Galvanised iron, 26in guage, is quoted at £l7, an advance of 10s per ton. Best Sydney copra has declined to £l3 10s. The Irish Land Commission. Mr W. Shaw, the Home Rule member for County Cork, has declined to accept a seat on the Land Commission which is to bo appointed under the provisions of the Irish Land Bill. WASHINGTON, July 12. Still Progressing. The latest bulletin reports that the President’s feverish symptoms have abated, and that he is progressing favorably. PARIS, July 12. The Bombardment of Sfax. Telegrams, which, however, require confirmation, are to hand reporting that a largo body of armed Arab tribes are marching from Tripoli to Sfax to assist the insurgents there against the French. The latest nows to hand from Tunis announces that the bombardment of Sfax by the French fleet continues, but the \ Arabs still hold out. 1
