VITAL STATISTICS.
WELLINGTON, June 23. The following are the vital statistics of the principal towns for the month of May, 1881 :
The total births in the above boroughs amount to 453, against 424- in April, being an increase of 29. The deaths amount to 171 in May, an increase of 13 on tho number for April. Of the above doaths, males contributed 100, females 71 ; 03 of the deaths wore of children under five years of age, being 54.39 per cent, of the whole number; 63 of theeo were children under one year of ago.
