[EBB PP.KB3 ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, June 15. Deputation. A deputation of local bodies waited on the Premier, urging the Government to give effect to the resolution prised at the Conference. The Premier replied that in reality the Conference wanted more money, and promised that the whole of the resolutions should have the consideration of the Govei jment. DUNEDIN, June 15. Sudden Death. Frederiok Beeves, a laborer, died suddenly of heart disease. Professor Salmond. The University of Glasgow has conferred the degree of D.O, on Professor Salmond. Rejected. The Dunedin Presbytery haverejeoted the call to the Eev. Inglis, of Ballarat. The Jewellery Robbery. At the City Court, John Anderson and Edward Hughes, charged with burgloi/ and laroeny of jewellery at Ohristchnrch, were remanded till to-morrow. At the gaol yesterday, Hughes made a voluntoty statement to Inspootor Weldon, implicating himself ond others, and took the inspeotor to the Ocean Beach, where they unearthed from the sandhills a bag containing a large quantity of the stolen property.
