News is to hand from Ireland that serious riots have occurred at Mitchelatown, in county Cork. Twelve thousand (sic) peasants assembled there to oppose the service of writs for tho ejectment of some of the tenants. Upon tho police arriving on the scene fighting of a very severe character took place, and after much bloodshed on both sides the rioters were dispersed, and the evictions of the tenants were finally completed. The land LeagueThe Irish Land League is daily increasing its agitation throughout tho country, and is showing signs that it will oppose any attempt to prohibit its meetings. PARIS, May 28. The Policy of FranceGambotta made a speech to-day, in the course of which ho counselled a pacific policy, and said that order and peace wore a necessity for the well being of Franco, and should ho rigidly maintained. CALCUTTA, May 28. More Fighting. Telegrams are to hand for Candahar stating that fighting has taken place at Jirisk between bodies of followers of Ameer Abdul llabaman and Ayoub Khan. Tho latter is reported to bo still at Herat.
