Victorian statistics prepared from the census returns show that the area of land devoted to wheat crop has increased 220,000 acres since last census. The yield has, however, decreased during the same period by 265,000 bushels. SYDNEY, May 20. Colonial Prices. Kerosene, Diamond, per gallon, Is 8d ; Devoe's, per gallon, Is lid ; New Zealand wheat, per bushel, 4s 8d; New Zealand oats, per bushel, 2s 6d ; maize, per 601b5., 2s sd; tobacco, Raven's twist, per lb., Is sd; candles, D.R.J.'sper lb., 8d ; candles, D.R.O.'s, 7|d. ADELAIDE, May 20. Wheat, per bushel, 4s 6d to 4s 7£d. The tone of the wheat market is steady. Town flour, £lO 10s to £lO 12s 6d ; country flour, £9 15s to £lO. The freight market is dnll, and there was V9ry little doing during the week. Freights remain at last quotations.
