Government declined to do so, as the institution is not a publio one. FireEarly on Thursday morning a six-roomed house in Green Island, belonging to Mr Geo. Wallace, was destroyed by fire. It waa insured in the Victoria effiee for £l6O. Mr Wallace estimates the value of the tenement at £l2O above that amount. As the place was unocoupied for six weeks, it is supposed the fire was the work of an incendiary.
