Brisbane has arrived at Cooktown from Hong Kong with 350 Chinese, one suffering from smallpox, and the vessel has therefore been quarantined. Eailway Extension. Mr Mcll wraith, the Premier, telegraphs from London that he has come to an agreement for the company to carry out the transcontinental railway scheme, subject to surveys confirming the representations which have been made by the surveying expedition. He will leave London for Queensland in the middle of May.
