SUPREME COURT.
SITTINGS AT NISI NR INS. Thubsdat, April 21. [Before his Honor Mr Justice Johnston and a special jury. - ] Aftar further evidence had been adduced n this case yesterday, His Honor summed up, and the following were the three material questions left to the jury, viz :—l. What was the date when the deed of settlement was signed ? 2. What amount was owing by the bankrupt at the time of the deed being signed ? 3. Could the defendant have met his debts without touching the property conveyed by the deed of settlement ? To these questions the jury returned the following answers : —l. February 23rd, 1880. 2. £540. 3 No. Ae will be seen from the answers given by the jury the verdict was a] somewhat peculiar one. His Honor, on the decree being moved for, will have to lay down the terms according to the verdict. This closed the nisi prins cases, and the Court adjourned to sit in banco on the 25th instant.
