THE BOREALIS. For the first time for many years an arrival direct from one of the South Soa Islands to Lyttelton is hero chronicled, the vessel being the brigantine Borealis, which anchored in Port on Friday night. Her cargo is composed of the staple articles of export found at the Islands, namely, oranges and coooannts, brought here by Oaptain 'fcKenzio in search of a market, and which will be offered by Messrs H. Matson and Co. at auction to-morrow. It is to bo hoped thot the prices then realised may bo sufficiently satisfactory to encourage a business between the Islands and this part of the colony. The report of the voyage of the Borealis is that she left Rarotonga March 23rd, and had chiefly light variable winds to making the land, Capo Turnagain, on Wednesday last. Northerly winds prevailed since. The Agnes Donald was at Earotonga, loading ; destination not settled. The Borealis had on board a quantity of pine apples and bananas when she left Karotonga, but they spoiled on the voyage up. The agents for the Borealis are Messrs Caff and Qraham. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS.
