OLD HALF-SOVEREIGNS.
To the Editor of the Olohe, Sir, —l notice a correspondent of the "Star” states a half-sovereign has “come into his possession ” coined in 1826. I beg to say that I have five which have been honestly earned into my possession that bear the Mint date of 1818; and also wish to say that old half-sovereigns, in my experience as a banker, are very common in this colony, as nearly all the old coinage finds circulation here.
