THEATRICAL BENEFIT.

To the Editor of the Globe. SlB, — I notice that Bandmann gives Miss Boaudet a second benefit on Friday evening. This seems passing strange. That the talented and esteemed tragedian, Mr J. F. Cathcart, should have his, no one will question, and ho would have the largest patronage accorded to him since the opening of the immortal Hans Broeokel’s season at the Boyal. But what have the other members of the company done that they should not have a chance of allowing the public an opportunity of appreciating their merits F I allude to Messrs Nunn, Tasman, Costello, Miss Louise Crawford, and others. It is not too late yet for Herr to give them a chance of making a few pounds on Saturday evening next, and so allow him to leave Christchurch without that stigma on his name that Artemus Ward had in quitting a city, and, to quote from a parting speech Bandmann made in Dunedin, ‘‘Good bye, God bless you, Artemus, but don’t come back again.” Yours, &c. A SHAKSPERIAN SCHOLAR.
