MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under: — THURSDAY, APRIL 7. For Akaroa and Otago, per Hawea, at 9.30 a.m.; late fee letters at 9.40 am. ; guard’s ran, 10.10 a.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Albion, at 3.20 p.m.; late fee letters at 3.30 p.m.; guard’s van, 4 p.m. train. SATURDAY, APRIL 9. For Chatham Islands, per Omaha. WEDNESDAY, APRIL 13. For the United Kingdom, via Brindisi (for specially addressed correspondence only). Continent of Europe, Point de Galle, India, China, Japan, the East, Aden, Mauritius, Natal, Cape of Good Hope, Suez, the Mediterranean Ports, Australian Colonies, &c., per express train (to connect with s.s. Botomahana at Bluff), as follows :— Ordinary letters, at 7 a.m.; books and newspapers at 6 a.m ; registered letters at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, 12th ; money orders at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, 12th. Late fee letters may be posted in the travelling Post-office van attached to the express train on Wednesday, April 13th. Note—The rate of postage for the United Kingdom by this route is 8d per half ounce. The next mail for the United Kingdom, &c.
