The Australian team of footballers will play their first match against tho Victorians on the 7th May. They proceed on a tour through New Zealand on 4th of June.
Hia ExceUeney the Marquis of Normanby is suffering from an attack of fever and agno. Mr Graham Berry will consequently preside at the meeting of the Executive Council to ho hold tomorrow.
Mr Mnnro, M.L.A., was violently assaulted by Mr Sergeant, M.L.A., in public to-day, and the latter has since been arrested.
BRISBANE, April 4.
Tenders for the construction of the railway between this city and Sandgate watering-place, about fourteen miles distant, have been received, and the lowest, at £38,63‘t, accepted.
