Oats are firm at la 6d to la Bd, and do not seem to come freely to hand. The impresaion is abroad that the supply is not what was expected. Barley is still a drng, and cannot be placed but at a low price, and with difficult sales at 2s, 2s 3d, 2s 6d, and Bs. This oovers my business sales. Bye grass is wanted at 3a 6d to 4s 6d. Sales at these figures I hare made during the week. The quality differs so mnch that only actual sales can describe the price. Potatoes are dull of sale at 30a, as outside markets are not encouraging to buyers. I hare had a number of inquiries for properties daring the week, some of which ace likely to lead to business. Messrs H. Bhnnbttb and Co. report on the live stock market for the week ending Thursday, March 24th, as follows : —At the Addington aaloyarda on Wednesday tbe total Bombers of stock yarded were 9717 sheep, 308 head of cattle, and 367 pigs. Fat Sheep—A fair average supply came to hand, chiefly good quality, there being a good attendance of the trade. Most lines were cleared at late rates. Stores are still coming forward in largo numhers, but owing to the continued dryness of the weather are not so eagerly sought after. Fat Cattle—Excepting two or three lines the entry was composed of the worst lot of cattle that have come forward for a long tine past, the hnlk being little better than stores, the bidding for which was very languid, but good sorts sold at fully late rates. Stores—Only a small number penned ; very little business doing. Pigs—Large entry, the bulk being rough stores from the North Island. Prices for good sorts equal to late rates. Our entries were—36B sheep, 117 head of cattle, and 4 pigs, from Messrs J. Tyson, D. Taylor, Beaver, R.
