C. 0.0. v U. 0.0.0. A match between the Ohriitohurch Club and an eleven o£ the U. 0.0.0. wae played on the College ground on Saturday last and the preceding Saturday. The 0.0.0. were the first to take the wickets, and made 94 in their first innings. Washer (not out) 31, Booth 24, and Ogier 15, being the principal scorers. Paul and McDowell bawled very fairlj, getting three wickets each. The wicket was bumpy and deceptive both to bowlers and batsmen. The U. 0.0.0. in their first innings made 103, of which Paul made 36 by good hard bitting, McFarlano 14, Meares 15, and Pixley 11. Booth, Fisher, and Marshall did most of the bowling, getting four, three, and two wickets respectively. On the second day the 0.0.0. went to the wickets about 2.30, and were not disposed of till time was nearly up, the total for the innings being 203. Oaygill made 64 in fine style. Washer and Wheatley played well for 46 and 21 respectively. The fielding was very loose, and many runs were obtained on that account. The bowlers were not very successful, owing to the roughness of the pitch. Oogan was most destructive, having four wickets to his credit. The match thus ended in a draw in favor of the 0.0.0. On the previous Saturday the World had made 69, and New Zealand 104 for six wickets. Fowke, not out 40, and Fenwick, not out 4, resumed their places, to the bowling of Ashby and Fuller, but the former was caught and bowled by Ashby after adding 3 to his score, and E Million succumbed to a yorkor from Ashby, and as there were no more men to go in, Fenwick carried out his bat for 10, the total being 118 The chief features in the World’s second innings were Seoretan’s long score of 100 not out and Watson’s 47. Both batsmen punished the bowling of the yonng New Zealanders as it deserved, and being materially assisted by loose fielding, the score mounted quickly to 191, five wickets only having fallen. Total 118 A match wua played on Saturday between an eleven of the Press O O. and the Avonville 0.0., which resulted in a draw, though greatly in favor of the Press team. The Press went first to the wickets and scored 83, of which Smith made 27 and Brunt 13. The Avonville then went in, but when time was called had only scored 34 for the loss of seven wickets. McOleary was the only one to reach double figures, making 10. Oostley and Alack bowled with success for the Press team, while

Thomson, Buckett and Hislop did the same for the opposite side. A match was played on Saturday between the Union and the Catholic School, which resulted in a victory lor the Union by one wicket and 5 runs. F. Jones and Ware batted well for the Union. Scores—Union, 109 ; Catholics, 104. A match between the Midland and Sydenham Clubs came to a conclusion on Saturday in favor of the former by six wickets. The scores were :—Midland, 147 and 26 for four wickets ; Sydenham, 72 and 100. The principal scorers for the visitors were :—Atack 12, Edser 22, White 23 and 11 not out, Fairhurst 16, and Palairet 39 not out. For Sydenham —Flowers 24, Fisher 17 not out, and Forsythe 14 {did most of the batting. Smith and Flowers also bowled well for them. Fairhurst and Edser proved equally destructive for the M. 0.0.0.
