The first thing yesterday morning this ship, whose arrival on Sunday night was reported in jestorday'fl issue, was towed in to a berth at the Gladstone Pier. As was predicted yesterday the Now Zealand Shipping Company has arranged for the immediate despatch of the Orari for home, her sailing date being set for March 31st, and the reputation of the Company for punctuality in the departure of their ships is so well established that unless something very unforeseen oconrs to prevent the Orari leaving upon her advertised date, her sailing will be no exception to the Company’s rule. The moment she was alongside the preparatory work for discharging was commenced. With reference to the voyage just completed there is very little of general interest, the most notable feature of it, perhaps, being the remarkable continuous run of what the bulk of passengers are correct in describing as “delightful weather," in contrast with what usually passes amongst shipmasters as “frightfully fine." The passengers by the Orari, of whom there wore between forty and fifty, were unanimous in their expressions of satisfaction at the passage, and were equally complimentary in their reports of the kindness and attention of Captain Mosey and his officers. Mr Webster, who last year was second officer, ibis voyage was promoted to chief, a distinction ia the achievement of which by so young a man ho may fairly be prond. The Orari left London for Lyttelton on November 27th, and was cast adrift by the tng off St. Catherine’s on the SOth. After fighting] with a westerly gale down Channel SoUly was sighted December 4tb. The succeeding fortnight was spent in the North Atlantic with alternate calms and baffling winds; then a -week’s run fetched Madeira December 21st, the Cana de Yard on the SOth. No N.E. trades were fallen in with, and on January 12th the ship crossed tho Equator. The Sydenham, bound to Auckland, was sighted that day. The 8.8. trades prevailed to 26 S. on January 22nd, and no westerlies were picked up until the ship -was in 44 S. and 39 W. on February 19th. They only held them for a week, when head winds for three or four days were encountered. A good run was made from 92 W. on March 6th to the Snares, sighted last Thursday. Variable winds wore met with along the coast. The following is a fall list of the passengers Saloon—Mr and Mrs Wood, Miss Ellon Jarrett, Mrs E. L. Stephens, Mr and Mrs T. C. Plant and family (7), Messrs E. H. Daffield, Clarkson, F. W. Harris, J. F. Skinner. Second cabin—Mr and Mrs J, Hartley, Mrs B. Jackson, Mr and Mrs George Dowell and family (9).
