The meeting f passed a resolution condemning the conduct £ of Government in confiscating the lands of loyal Natives. 3 Natives Complacent The fifth item referred to the fisheries and j pipi banks, but a letter being read assuring all 1 p esent that (he matter was now in Judge j Fenton’s hands, this was passed over. Miscellaneous. The sixth item was in reference to Land Court. It was resolved that Native meetings should first be held and their sales be sent to (ho Natives Land Court. The seventh item was in reference to Maori members It was unanimously agreed that the Maori members did more harm than good, and ought not to be sent to Wellington. The Chairman, in passing the next item, “ said : —“ We are passing this motion to cease 3 selling lands, and before long wo shall want to | sell. What are we to do ? I say, Let anyj ono sell that thinks proper.” . The item was casried unanimously. There are 130 Natives present.
