OHBISTOH D B O H. Wednesday, Maboh 16. [Before W. Pilliet, Esq., and B, Westenrs, Eaq , J.P.’e] Street Fioiitis« bamuel O van and Lake Austin, for fighting near the Palace Hotel, were lined 20a each. M. O Brien and Arthur Latton, for a similar off nee at Burmeister’a oyster saloon, were fined lOs each. LABOBNIBB.— -Frederick Line was brought np charged with stealing some articles of clothing from a swag belonging to Eichard Jonas. After hearing evidence, prisoner was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment with hard labour. Yictor Martin was charged with stealing a purse and £1 Os 3d, the property of Peter Anderson. On the application of the police he was remanded till Friday next. Bail was allowed, prisoner in £SO and two sureties in £35 each. [Before J. Nugent Wood, 8.-q., B M.] Maintenance ob Pabkntb A case against O. W. Pugh was adjourned for one week, to allow of an arrangement being oomo to. Oabbiebb’ Licenses. —A. Elliot was charged with plying for hire as a carrier without a license. The case had been adjourned from a previous day. Defendant staled that ho worked under contract for several firms exclusively. He did not go on to a public stand or solicit work. His Worship thought that under the circumstances a license was not required. Case dismissed.
