The Customs duties collected at Christchurch on' Friday, March 11th, were as follows ; Spirits, .£44 11a 9d; tobacco, £B4; wine, £25 6s 8d ;'sugar, X 1 1; tea, X>9 10s; goods by weight, £G6 18s lid; ad valorem, £715 8s; other duties, _£ L 1 15s- Total, £985 10a 4d. AUCTIONEERS’ REPORTS. Messrs H. Matson & Co. hold a sale at their Land Rooms of building sections upon a portion of Mr 1 wigge r’s farm, Lincoln road, on Saturday. There was a crowded attendance, but the biddings were rather dnll. However, the auctioneer-succeeded in selling as follows : No 7, 1 rood 2 perches, .£7O; No. 8, 1 rood 2 perches, £80; No. 11, 1 rood 1 perch. .£72 10s ; No. 13,1 rood 1 perch, £75 ; No. 14, 1 rood 1 perch, £BO ; No. 15,: 1 rood 1 perch, £BS ; No. 25, 1 rood 1 perch, £75 ; No. 26,1 rood 1 perch, JE7O ; No. 27, 1 rood 1 perch, £72 10s; total, £6BO. There are several of the other sections being treated for privately. The farm of 120 aorea at little Akaloa is also likely to be sold privately, Mb H. E. Alport reports having recently bold several soles b; auction of expensive furniture at resid'dcea of Mr B. W. Trent and other persona leaving Christcfanrch. Also at the Hereford street salerooms, parcels of groceries, oilman’s stores, furniture, dinner and ehamber earthenware, boots and shoes, Ac. Notwithstanding the outcry of bad times, all these sales ■ hare been well attended, and excellent prices obtained for cash
