MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under: — SATURDAY, MARCH 12. For Northern Ports, per Hawea, at 7.30 P ‘ m ' SATURDAY, MARCH 2S. For United Kingdom via San Francisco. Note. —The next mail for the United King, dom, via Brindisi, &o. (only specially addressed correspondence), and for India, China, &0., will close at Christchurch on Wednesday next, 16th March, for despatch to Melbourne per s.s. Arawata, as under :—Ordinary letters, at 7 a.m.; books and newspapers at 6 a.m ; registered letters at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, 15th. ; money orders at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, 15th. Late fee letters may be posted in the travelling Poit-office van attached to the express train on Wednesday, 19th. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster
