Matson and Co. held a sale of UjO cargo of sugars ex Annabell, from Mauritius, en Wednesday last, at their rooms. The atten4»noe of the trade was by no means what might have been expected from the Buaerior quality of (lie cargo, aad the biddings were consequently alow. The trade aro said to be well stocked with most qualities of sugar. The following sales were effected :—A, 100 pockets snowdrops, •4 J 836 10s per ton, i.b. ; B, 100 pockets finest white crystals, at 4135 10s per ton, i.b. ; B, 50 fooketa finest white crystals, at j 836 per ton, i.b. ; E, 109 pockets finest white crystals, at JtSS per ton, i.b. ; C, 200 pockets fine white crystals, at £Zi per ton, i.b. ; LL, 250 pockets Una white orystals, at -833 10s per ton, i.b. ; M, SOD pockets fine white crystals, at £33 per ton, i.b.; S, 100 pockets fine yellow counters, at J 829 10* per ton, i.b. ; 1100 pockets in all. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency report under date London, 7th March : Wool—Competition is increasing and the market is firmer. The wheat market is firm, Adelaide and Victoria being worth 51s per 4om».
