The Union Steamship Company’s s.s. Wanaka arrived yesterday from Dunedin, and left for the Mannkau via way ports. The barque Palace, from Newcastle, was berthed at one of the wharves yesterday to discharge her cargo of timber and piles. She arrived on Monday afternoon, as was reported in yesterday's ig'ue, and was brought direct into the inner harbor by tho steam tug Lyttelton on arrival. Much to the astonishment of a good many people interested in the arrival of vessels at the wharves she was suddenly ordered out into tho stream. The barque Palala, loaded with grain, was dispatched by the New Zealand Shipping Co. for London. Psvtioulars of her loading were given in a previous issuo. Tho A. C.
