INDUSTRIAL ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the committee of the above was held yesterday afternoon at four o'clock. Piesent—Messrs E. Allan (president), H. B. Kirk, F. Jenkins, O. P. Hulbert, A. J. Howland and Smith. A letter was read from the Ashburton Exhibition Committee, requesting the active co-operation of the members of the Industrial Association. The chairman said he hoped that the members would help the Ashburton people as far as they could. A letter was read from a member of the association offering certain suggestions. Mr Howland presented the association with a valuable collection of information relative to paper-making machinery. Mr W. J. Smith moved, " That in future the committee meetings be held on the second Tuesday in the month at four p.m., and on the fourth Tuesday in every month at 7.30 p.m. The general meetings to be held on the fourth Tuesday at eight p.m." Mr Jenkins seconded the motion, which was agreed to. The meeting then adjourned.
