Kennedy filled the gap, but lost Mansell, who was clean bowled by Palmer—6o— Haughton went in, and Kennedy was dismissed by Palmer, The first wide against the Australian Eleven was now bowled by Palmer. McGirr was the next man, and when the score had reached 66 Haughton was neatly taken in the slips by Palmer off Spofforth, Luxford was the last man, and in attempting to steal a run lost his wicket, the innings closing for 68. The Australians thus winning the match by one innings and 21 runs. WELLINGTON. Second Innings.
