Soundings wore taken the other day over the portion of tho harbor just outside and opposite tho entrance between the moles. The-Palmerston correspondent of the “'Daily Times” writes!—The a.a. Shag, belonging to the Sung Point Coal Company, when leaving the port yesterday (Friday) morning, unfortunately got driven on to the rooks at tho entrance to the harbor. A heavy breeze was blowing at the time, which, together with the heavy sea on at the tiruo, caused her to bnmp heavily. After throwing overboard abont 30 tons of her cargo (coal) they succeeded in getting her off. She was at once towed back to harbor, and was then more than half full of water. Efforts were at once made to pump tho water out, hut at tho time of my writing the full extent of her injuries if not known.
