WELLINGTON BAOES. [PBBSS ASSOCIATION TBLBSBAIf.] WELLINGTON, February 4. The weather to-day was fine, and about 800 people were on the course. Hutt Park Stakes of 75 sovs; H miles. Kaodwick ... ... ... ... 1 Luna 2 Mischief 3 Badsworth also went to the post, but bolted, and went round the course twice before the jockey could pull him up. On his return to the post Bandwiok kioked out, and Blanche, who was riding Badsworth, was kicked on the leg. The horse was then taken back to the paddock. Luna had the best of the start, and held the lead to the back of the course, when Mischief ran into first place, Bandwiok being close up. On entering the straight the latter came with a rush, and won rather easily by three lengths from Luna, who was a length a-head of Mischief. Time—2min. 16secs. Handicap Hurdles of 75 sovs -, about 2} miles. Clarence 1 Grey Momus 2 Agent 3 Raven and Eclipse also ran. Clarence, from his victory on the previous day, was eagerly sought after, and started at even money, 3 to 1 agst Momus, 5 to 1 agst Agent. A capital start was effected. Passing the stand for the first time Clarenoe led, with Momus second, the others tailing off. At the second hurdle Momus baulked, but got over on the eeoond attempt. At tho baok of the course Baven went to the fore, with Eclipse second, Clarence next, Agent lying last several lengths behind. This order was maintained to the back of the oourse on the final round, when Baven had a commanding lead, but fell at the next hurdle, and was thrown out of the race. Clarence now showed in front, and Grey Momus took second place. A grand struggle ensued up to the straight, Clarence winning by a length from Momus, five lengths separating him and Agent. Time, 4mins 30secs. For. the Hack Hurdles Hollowbaok and Taratahi started. The former won easily, Taratahi falling at the third hurdle. Racing Club Handicap, of 200 sovs; If miles. Libeller 1 Norseman 2 Governor 3 Luna and Dan also started. Betting even on Libeller, Dan and Norseman being next in-order of the betting. After one false start the horses were sent, away. Governor was the first to show in front, and led past the stand with Norseman and Luna in close attendance, Libeller and Dan keeping some distance behind. At the turn Libeller com* menced to oreep up to the leader, and at the back of the course all five were in a duster, Norseman now showed in front, with the Governor and Libeller one length in the rear. Norseman was the first to enter the straight, Governor lying second, but Libeller gallantly responded to a call from his jockey, came with a rush, and after a severe struggle with Norseman won cleverly by a neok, Governor being a length away. Time, 3mm. 134aec. Ladiks' Purse, of 30 sovs; 11 miles. Billingsgate 1 Miss Domett 2 Only two started. The latter led until 50 yards from home, when Billingsgate made his effort and won by a length. Consolation Stakes, of 30 sovs; 1 mile. Dan 1 Mischief 2 Cassivelaunus filly 3 Mischief held the lead to the straight, when he was challenged by Dan, the latter winning by one length. Mischief was seoond, apparently hard held. Time, lmin. 45se:. The totalisator was well patronised during the day.
