SUNDAY TRADING.

To the Editor of the Globe. Sir,—l entirely agree with the romarka of the correspondent “ Themis ” about the - cant re the closing of the Coffee Palace on Sunday evenings. Such utter rot and twaddle is only worthy of a man who can devote his time in seeking after the lost tribes of Israel, If Councillor Lambert is so very anxious about the sanctity of the Sabbath, let him walk along the North belt on Sunday afternoon, and witness the croquet playing and general out door festivities which may bo soon there. It is a shame to attempt to deprive an honest man making a living, or to prevent a poor fellow getting a comfortable meal on a Sunday evening for sixpence. I hope the day is tar distant when wo shall see our fair city made like unto Glasgow or Edinburgh on a Sunday through the bigotry of Sabbatarians and other sanctimonious fanatics. Goodness knows, Colonial life is dnll enough without trying to make our one day of rest a day of gloom and fasting. Yours, &e., LIBERTY TO THINK,
