The schooner Bona has left Tauranga for Kaipaira to loud for here. The Onward ai rived on Saturday from Hokianga with a cargo of timber. She left there on the 16th inst. The boat picked up by Pilot Day, of Sumner, «n the North Spit on Friday would doubtless bo -the same that got adrift at Macintosh Bay last Tuesday night, a reward for the finding of iwhioh Tyaa advertised by the owner, Mr MoCracken. The following veasela were lying at the wharves last evening:—At No. 1, Pleades, West. Biding, Otaki, Waimato, City of Lahore ; Beautiful Star (s.), St. Kilda (a.); 3, Circe ; 4, Herald; 5, T. B. Taylor, Elizabeth Curie, Island City, Cleopatra, Dido; 6, Falcon,Prince Eupert, Isabella, Aratapn j 7. Thomas and Henry, Mary King, Omaha, Onward; Dock Works Jetty, Vision. 'The Union Steamship Company's a s. Penguin, Citptiin Malcolm, arrived on Saturday morning from the Manukau, having crossed the bar at 1 p.m. on the 18th inst. She called at Taranaki, Picton and Wellington. From Wellington on Friday afternoon she encountered while oroßsing the Straits heavy squalls from the N.W., one of which suddenly sweeping down on the ship carried away her foreyard »nd foretopmast with aaila, gear, &o. The steamer sustained no rforther damage, and by dusk the weather had .greatly moderated. The vessel left for Welling. ■ton on Saturday night. SHIPPING TELEGBAMB.
