[ebtttee’s telegeams.] LONDON, January 18. Paradisiacal. A very severe hurricane, accompanied by an exceedingly heavy fall of snow, has been experienced throughout nearly the whole of England. Tho railway linos in many places have been blocked, and traffic suspended. At several coast ports many vessels have become total wrecks owing to the fury of the gale. The Address in Reply. In the House of Commons to-day the debate on the address in reply, and Mr Justin McCarthy’s proposed amendment on tho same, was resumed. After further discussion tho amendment was put to a division, and rejected by a large majority. The debate on tho address was again further adjourned, owing to an increase of agrarian outrages and agitation in county Clare and part of county Sligo in Ireland, Both districts have been proclaimed “ disturbed. In consequence of renewed rumors of Fenian activity, and possible attacks on various Government establishments, tho magazines at Woolwich Arsenal are now strongly guarded by detachments of troops, and every preparation is made against any assault. January 19. Severe WeatherOwing to recent heavy falls of snow the Thames has risen several feet and has overflowed its banks. Fully one hundred barges have been sunk, and great damage has boon done to etores and other establishments near the river. Tho total loss of property is estimated fully two millions sterling. The StormTho storm which wus experienced throughout England yesterday extended to Western Europe, without losing its

severity. In many p? rts of the Continent tho telegraph lines were blown, down and the mail traffic stopped, and considerable destruction has been done to property. Central Asia* Farther intelligence to hand from Central Asia states that the Turcomans have made a fresh sortie from Geok Tepe. They were again unsuccessful, and were repulsed by Russians, who are now bombarding the town.
