Marine Insurance Company was commenced. The action arises out of the stranding of tho ship Hyderabad at Horowhenna, near Foxton, in 1878, and the plaiutiff sues for £2315 on a general average, and £2201 for services in endeavouring to save the ship, loss of tackles, &o. It is the intention of the Government to make further reductions and amalgamations in the Civil Service, and Messrs Batkin and Seed have been instructed to report as to the directions and manner in which such reductions can be most satisfactorily effected.
