[reuter's telegrams.] SYDNEY, January 14.. The first sitting of the adjourned Inter-colonial Conference was held here yesterday. The representatives of all the colonies, except New Zealand, were present. The business transacted was purely of a preliminary character. The programme of proceedings of the Conference being alone dealt with. Skuthorpe further telegraphs that he has in his possession the telescope which was presented by the Governor, on behalf of colonists, to Leichardt, the* •xplorer.
