Rumors current last week o£ an intended Fenian raid on "Volunteer's armouries are renewed, and are again receiving the attention of the authorities.. The reports now received point to the possibility of attacks on the military establishments at Gosport and Chester Castle, and extensive precautions are being taken at both places to withstand any assault. Indian Matters. It is announced that Lieut.-General Sir Donald Stewart, who commanded the British army in Cabul, will shortly succeed General Sir Frederick Haines as Commander-in-Chief in India. BOMBAY January 11. News have been received here that a plot has been discovered among thenatives of Kolaporetown, in the south o£ this presidency, to assassinate all European residents in the place. Owing to the detection of the conspiracy danger was averted, and a number of arrests have been made of would-be assassins. PARIS, January 11.
