MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the (allowing places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under SATURDAT, JANUARY 8. For Otago, per Albion, at 1.40 p.m.; late foe letters, 2 p.m. ; guard’s van, 2.50 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Hawea, at 7.30 p.m. Guard’s van must not bo used for this mail, WEDNESDAY. JANUARY 12. For the United Kingdom, via Brindisi (forspocially addressed correspondence only), Point de Oalle, India. China, Japan, the East, Aden, Mauritius, Natal, Capa of Good Hope, Suez, the Mediterranean Ports, Australian Colonies, &0., per express train, to connect with s.s. Arawata, at Bluff, as follows : Ordinary letters at 7 a.m.; boohs and newspapers at 6 a.m.; registered letters at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11th ; money orders at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, January 11th. Late fee letters may be posted in the travelling Post Office van attached to the express train on Wednesday, January 12th.
