ENGLISH & FOREIGN. [REUTER’S TELEGRAMS.] LONDON, January 5. Irish DisturbancesNews comes to hand to-day of a further serious disturbance in Ireland. A large crowd of people had assembled at a farm at Nowbrook near Claremorris, m order to prevent the service of a notice for the ejectment of the tenants. A body of police was despatched to the scon%of tho disturbance, and the people were ordered to disperse. Upon their refusing to do so tho police charged, with fixed bayonets upon the rioters, several of whom wore seriously wounded in the struggle which ensued. Doans and Pig IronPour and a half per cent. The official report of the disaster mot with by tho detachment of the 94th Regiment in Transvaal almost completely confirms tho accounts first received. The detachment was escorting a convoy of supplies, when it was surrounded hy Boors, who summoned the British to surrender. Upon the latter refusing, the Boers swept down on them, and 112 officers and men were killed. New AppointmentSir Evelyn Wood is to proceed to tho Capa to command tho British forces in the Transvaal.
