The day was fine, and the fields were fairly well contested. The usual followers of race meetings were present in considerable numbers. Mr Brooks, of the Head of the Bay Hotel, catered for the hungry and thirsty in good style. The stewards were übiquitous, and Mr B. Barter, the secretary, was attentive and obliging.
